Some more gorgeous things for gorgeous girls!

Dainty June is a new brand from the states, designed by one of the original EC Star designers (so if you like EC Star, we think you'll love Dainty June!) The first Dainty June collection, 'She's Like A Rainbow' has just arrived!

Dainty June is a clothing range about colour and adventure, and has a great Retro Mod Sixties look. Dainty June describe themselves as 'The Dainty June girl is the kind of girl who would ask a guy to the prom, she could chow down an entire pastrami on rye and still have room for a banana split, she would walk her dog in the rain, cut her own hair, make you tea, and collect buttons in ball jars. She's polite, playful and adventurous.'

Take a peek below at the new Summer Dainty June Clothing...

"Looking good isn't important... its everything!"

We're very excited to announce the arrival of Ben Sherman at Atom Retro!

We've been stocking Ben Sherman Shoes since Spring 2009, and now the mens wear has landed! (Don't worry girls - we've also got some fab Ben Sherman Dresses, Skirts, Jeans and Tops on their way for you too!)

For fans of the Sixties and Mods, Ben Sherman will already be something your familiar with. Ben Sherman is one of the world most famous and well established Mod clothing brands. Founded in Brighton in 1963, by Arthur Bernard Sugarman, Ben Sherman began life as a shirt brand. Realising young people were eagerly buying the Oxford-cloth U.S. button-down shirt brands such as Brooks Brothers, Arrow and Hathaway, which at the time, these were only avalable from official importers.

Sugarman decided to produce a version of these shirts under the new 'Ben Sherman' label. The mods responded immediately, especially as Sugarman was using higher-quality materials and stitching-detail than the imported shirts. By 1965, the company had opened a small office on the upper floors of a shabby office-block in a London back-street, at 9 Carnaby St., which acted as the showroom for their collections. Today the Ben Sherman flag ship store can be found at 50 Carnaby Street, London.

By 1970, the high-fashion demand had passed, and the shirt was adopted by the skinhead subculture in the early 1970s, and later again by the mod revivalists of around 1979.

Today Ben Sherman are one of the most popular British Brands, and are as popular as ever with Mods all over the world. Ben Sherman is still famous for their shirts, with the Ben Sherman House Check Shirts and Gingham Shirts as popular now as in the Sixties. Ben Sherman have grown to feature almost every aspect of fashion, including jackets, Polos, Jeans and look out for something exciting and new coming out this Autumn!

Available in limited edition range of three - Black Gingham, Navy Gingham and classic Mod Red Tartan - these shirts are already best sellers, so make sure you grab yours before they're all gone!

Gabicci launched thier vintage range recently, reproducing some vintage classics from the Gabicci back catalogue - which we're sure you'll agree are absolutely fantastic.

Gabicci was founded in 1973 with a range of Mod looking polos and knitwear which became instantly popular in the Northern Soul dance halls and later among the Revivalist Mods of the Seventies and Eighties. Moving on to the Nineties, Gabicci's Retro appeal saw the brand become popular on the Indie music scene (with original Seventies Gabicci Polos changing hands for up to £150.00 a time!)

Gabicci Vintage was launched in December 2007 and January 2008 to satisfy the demand for Gabicci's Retro look and Vintage Seventies Polos, Knitwear, Shirts and Jackets. Gabicci Vintage is back for Autumn and Winter 2008/09 with some great styles and reproductions, from Slimfit Mod Polo tops to fantastic Retro Seventies Zip Up heavy weight cardigans - ideal for colder weather.

Get over to Atom Retro now to see the full Gabicci Vintage range.

PS. Looking for a Stocking filler for the Mod in your life this Christmas? We've even got some Gabicci Socks!

Here's something I very nearly forgot to tell you about!

Introducing British Heritage Brand, and Indie Fashion Favourite, BUKTA at Atom Retro!

We are very pleased to now be stocking Bukta - the orginal and first ever Sports Clothing Brand, and worn by Indie icons such as Liam Gallagher.

Bukta was founded in Manchester, England in 1879 by Edward Buck and Sons, begining life manufactoring Army Shorts for soldiers. It wasn't long until Bukta turned its hand to sports kits and a legend was born. Bukta supplied almost all the major Football and Rugby teams at one time or another throughout the 20th centuary - but if you haven't heard of them - this was in the days before obvious branding on sportswear (it wasn't actually allowed!) - and by the Sixties, Bukta was worn by more sports teams than any other brand.

You may recall this iconic Bukta Football kit worn by George Best:

Under here! )

Bukta went from strength to strength in the Seventies and Eighties, enjoying worldwide sucess. However, you may not have seen them around much in recent years - but worry not! Bukta was relaunched in 2005, still based in Manchester, still making thier fantastic Sports kits, but now back on the high street (or internet in our case!) and better than ever!

Cast your eye over a sample of the Bukta range and find out why Butka really is Best! )

Well, here we are, the first day of September and already we're getting ready for the colder weather! (When was Summer you might ask if you're in the UK!)

A good quality Winter Coat is always a good investment that will see you through not only this Winter but also years to come - and we have just the perfect coats for you Retro, Sixties and Mod lovers!

We have been stocking Gibson London for a while now, and for this Autumn and Winter Seasons, they've pulled out all the stops. Gibson London are heavily influenced by all things Mod, Carnaby Street and Sixties - but they're right here in the now! Thier label tagline is 'A Way Of Life' and if you need further convincing you only need to check out their 'Mission Statement' for thier Mod Sixties credentials...

'The Year, 1964. The Streets of London were alive to a new beat, Carnaby Street to Saville Row, a sharp, flamboyant style was emerging with explosive effects. An era defined by individual expression and a vibrant music scene - a new 'Britishness' inspiring cultural change and a new Way Of Life'

Not bad, eh?

on to the Fab New Gear! )

PS. More fantastic Gibson London will be coming later in the year, so stay tuned!

Here's one for your Christmas Wish List... We know its only August, but you'd better get your requests in as these Limited Edition Bruce Foxton Shoes by Ikon Originals won't be around for long!

Bruce Foxton, bass player with The Jam and the newly re-formed version, From The Jam, has teamed up with Indie Mod Footwear Brand, Ikon for this very special limited edition pair of shoes. The idea originally sprang from Bruce Foxton's love and admiration for the Ikon white Gibson style shoes, with white footwear being the trademark shoe of choice for Bruce Foxton. Ikon decided to "make it his" for 2008 in order to coincide with the From The Jam tour.

The white Gibson style shoes have a light punch detail to the vamp and toe, four eyelets and a distinctive black and white checkerboard inner. The upper is pure white, full grain leather, the inside has calf leather linings and white leather in-sock, with black contrast stitching as the finishing touch. Even the laces are white flat cotton, so every aspect of this shoe has been designed with Bruce in mind.

Bruce Foxton's signature is laser etched to the pure white sole of both shoes, and each pair are a limited edition, numbered pair. The shoes are presented in shoe bags, inside a specially designed Foxton shoebox. Ikon even throw in a photo print of Mr Foxton himself, on stage, wearing the shoes, in full Rock and Roll pose!

And you can get all of this for a mere £65.00! A bargain price for a future collectors item! Make sure you get your pair before they're all gone!
